My name is Jake Stanley, I am the owner and founder of Strait Timber Ltd. I was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast and have spent my working life building connections and relationships in the community.
I operate a 2022 Woodmizer LT40 wide. It is fully hydraulic with a log loader and accuset system which makes the cuts fast, consistant and precise without manually measuring each cut. This allows us to be more efficient than many of the other mills out there resulting in a lower bill for the client and a superior product. We can process a 36 inch log with a 34 inch cut.
Generally I can produce 1600-2000 board feet in a 8 hour day. What does this mean? For cedar it would be a retail value of $5600-$7000 with a two man crew. A pretty great return on investment.
